Lights - Virtual Countdown

Lights Countdown is a groundbreaking event, not only in the technologies that are applied for the first time in a music festival in Vietnam, such as virtual studio technology, but also in its scale. Lights has a total of 5 different stages, all connected together in a virtual "universe" with a shortened version of Saigon city at the center. As the creative director and visual director of the project, I used the image of an inverted pyramid for the main stage as a metaphor for an inverted parallel universe. The "pyramid" stage becomes a cruise ship, traveling through musical lands to honor the artists.

With strict requirements in organizing events during the pandemic, artists are invited to perform on a small pyramid-shaped stage, and then the entire stage is expanded and placed in virtual settings thanks to virtual studio technology. The entire virtual scene, 3D audience, stage effects, are then redrawn and performed live in parallel with the events on the real stage.
