After receiving the invitation from Adidas, I represented Vietnam to participate in the campaign to redesign the legendary Ultraboost sneaker for the limited edition of 6 Southeast Asian countries.
Insipired by traditional Vietnamese art, I put on the shoe the brick pink and moss green palette of Dong Ho paintings and combined them with the lotus flower motif of the Ly Tran dynasty. I also picked out and incorporated the motifs of iridescent clouds, yin and yang twists in Dong Ho paintings into small details such as shoelaces and heel pads. Then with my own designing languages, I combined them all to come up with the final product as you see above.
This is a great campaign and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate and contribute my creativity. This Ultraboost "Hoa Sen" model has sold more than 10,000 products and is distributed throughout Asia. A truly memorable project!
